Ms. Whittaker’s

General Supplies/ Procedures/ Grading Policy:

Looseleaf Notebook Paper, writing utensils, textbook, and Binder/Spiral/Workbook need to be brought to class EVERY DAY. Upon entering the classroom, everyone needs to copy the daily objective into their Binder/Spiral, and then begin on any Warm-up that may be posted on the board/overhead.

Mondays are “organization day”. Every Monday students will need to record the tests/quizzes and upcoming events in their Agenda books. Agenda books will be required for all classes, and I encourage all parents to look at the agenda book, and follow along with their child’s current unit of study.

While ALL work assigned is important, all work is NOT graded/counted equally. Following is a breakdown of the various percentages that each TYPE of assignment is worth.

Dailywork/ Quizzes 50%
Tests/Projects 40%
Homework 10%
_____________________________

Total Grade 100%

Every Tuesday when the graded math assignments are passed out, students should record their assignment’s percentage grade onto their gradesheet, and at the end of the grading period, extra credit will be given for those students who turn in a completed gadesheet along with the math calculations that show how they acheived their average. Each student will be resposible for keeping up with their own gradesheet and I encourage all students and parents to check the website weekly to verify that all grades are indeed being recorded on it.

If you have any questions/concerns about this information, please call the school or send an e-mail or note, and I will get back in touch with you as soon as possible.

I am looking forward to a WONDERFULLY successful year for ALL of my students.
